TEMPUS

TEMPUS is one of the European Union’s programmes which support the modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region, mainly through university cooperation projects.
Tempus provides support to consortia of institutions composed mainly of universities or university associations, as well as non-academic partners.
NATIONAL TEMPUS OFFICE IN KAZAKHSTAN
The TEMPUS Programme had been started in Kazakhstan in 1995. Altogether during past period 76 projects have been implemented. The total grant amount is more than 54 million Euro. Among them 28 national and 48 regional projects.
The National Tempus Office (NTO) was inaugurated in June, 2005, in Almaty. Activities of the NTO aim to stimulate implementation of Kazakhstan educational policy priorities in higher education and facilitate integration of Kazakhstan higher education into the European educational area.
Its main activities include:
• Provision of the information support regarding the TEMPUS programme
• TEMPUS projects monitoring.
• Assisting in searching partner-institutions for applying for TEMPUS grants.
• Promoting networking among on-going TEMPUS projects teams.
• Coordination of the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs).
From the period of 2008 to 2014 S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University implements the following projects of EU TEMPUS program:
1). JEP – 24003-2003 TACIS Curriculum Development “Development of Master program in sustainable animal breeding in Central Asia”. Coordinator – AGRENA –ENSAR, France (2003-2006).

7). Graduate 2014
The regular graduating of young specialists took place at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University. For the years of its existence, the university highly raised education level, having made its quality as the main priority. It also proved that it can hold and lift this high level even above, combining process of training in the chosen profession with education of young people in the branch of national tradition, fidelity to its roots.
Future graduates get necessary knowledge on technical, agricultural, social and economic specialties at their own university. It allows them further competently and more effectively carry out the functional duties in practical activities, to seize new equipment and new knowledge. During 57 years of its activity the university trained and graduated 59844 experts and bachelors for agriculture and other branches of economy. From the moment of starting educational programs of postgraduate education 673 persons got master diploma. General number of graduates by all levels of training makes up 60517 students. Graduates are handed with the diploma of a nation-wide sample about higher education.
About 350 graduates (23%) at the University are given recommendations for entering to Master program.
In general, in 2013-2014 academic year 2029 students on 35 specialties of a bachelor degree and specialists were graduated (among them 1518 full-time students including with honors 185, 511 half time students including 14 with honors. Graduates by postgraduate program of education makes up 248 masters on 22 specialties of the profile and scientific -pedagogical directions.
The greatest percent of graduation on the direction of training makes up "Technical sciences": on a bachelor degree – nearly 42% from total and 27,4% on a master degree.
Among faculties the greatest number of graduates in 2014 was 519 students at Economy Faculty.
Among 199 bachelors who graduated the university and specialists (9,8%) got diploma with honors. The greatest percent of diplomas with honors have got students at the following faculties: Veterinary Science and Technology of Animal Husbandry – 14,3% and Agronomy – 11,9%.
The expected graduation of 2014-2015 academic year to October 1, 2014 makes up 2989 students among them 2080 full time and 591 half time students as well as 318 Master students.
