On June 29 - 1, 2017, the International Conference "Bologna Principles and Quality Assurance at European Union and Central Asia Universities" was held at JSC " S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (S. Seifullin KATU) following the implementation of the EU Erasmus + project “Enhancing capacities in implementation of institutional quality assurance systems and typology using Bologna process principles – IQAT”.
The conference was attended by partner universities and educational institutions: Center for Higher Education Studies, Czech University of Life Sciences (Czech Republic), University of Alicante (Spain), Latvian State University (Latvia), Konstantin Philosoph Slovak University in Nitra. (Slovakia), Tashkent University of Chemical Technology, Andijan State University, Samarkand Agrarian University (Uzbekistan), Karaganda State Technical University, International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), National Defense University, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Center of the Bologna Process of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Accreditation Agency and Rating, representatives of the universities of Astana, as well as the staff of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University.
Before the conference, Abdyrov A.M., the First Deputy of JSC" Seifullin KATU" delivered a speech of welcome and made presentation "Implementation of EU Erasmus + projects at S. Seifullin KATU”, S. Kalkamanov, representative of the Department of Higher and Post-Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan made presentation" Review of the National Quality Control System in the Republic of Kazakhstan" as well as Khasenova U.A., the main expert of the Center of the Bologna process presented "International accreditation of Kazakhstan universities".
During the conference, the following topics were discussed: the practice of implementing European standards in the teaching process; results of internal assessment of the quality of teaching; quality management of higher education; research activities of undergraduates of the National Defense University as a factor in improving the quality of vocational education; strengthening the capacity to implement reforms within the framework of the Bologna Principles at the institutional level at two Central Asian regions: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan; an internal guarantee of the quality of education at the Czech University of Natural Sciences, as well as a methodology for self-evaluation of teaching and its use in management.
At the end of the conference, participants from Europe and Central Asia universities got acquainted with the activities of the university, the sights of the city, visited the EXPO-2017 exhibition, and also visited Educational Scientific Production Complex “Saryarka” of S. Seifullin KATU in the town of Shchuchinsk.
