A delegation from China, headed by Ailigeng Immingbach, Member of the CPC Central Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 13th Convocation of the National People's Congress, visited S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University. The delegation consisted of Ailigeng Imingbach Vice- Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (NPC); Li Xueyong, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Head of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, and Healthcare; Ke Liangdong, Deputy Secretary-General of the NPC Standing Committee; Zhang Sujun, Member of the Standing Committee of the NPC, Deputy Head of the Committee on Control and Justice of the National People's Congress.
The meeting took place at Veterinary Sciences and Livestock Technology Faculty.
Professor Kurishbaev A.K., the rector of the university, greeted the representatives from China with a welcoming speech. He spoke about the cooperation that began in 2010 after the opening of the Kazakh-Chinese Center of Science and Education at S.Seifullin KATU. Projects that are introduced into the science and education of the university were also presented.
One of the global projects is the construction of a Veterinary laboratory for Biosafety in the veterinary clinic of the faculty at the expense of sponsor support of the Harbin Veterinary Institute.
The construction of the laboratory is of great importance for the training and research, and students of KATU. In addition, the laboratory will be used to help agro-industrial enterprises, in particular when diagnosing acute infectious diseases of animals.
The construction of the laboratory began in 2017, and final completion and launch is planned in the end of July, 2018.
The Chinese side undertook commitments to equip the laboratory to 3 BCL in the future.
