This year is special for S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University as it is the 130th anniversary of the birth of Saken Seifulin. On this occasion, special guests were invited to a meeting with students: the famous actor, singer, poet, playwright Kanat Zhunisov and public figure, teacher, relative of Saken Seifullin Asylgul Abish.
Mr Zhunisov is a laureate of the traditional song competition. Author of more than 200 songs: in the films “Birzhan Sal”, “Magzhan”, “Zhambyl”, “Secrets and Fates of the Great Kazakhs”, theatrical performances for the 110th anniversary, 115th anniversary, 120th anniversary of Saken Seifullin. He played the role of Saken Seifullin in the feature film “Zhambyl”.
In 2014, the government of Kyrgyzstan awarded Kanat Kurmashevich the Toktagul medal for playing the role of Saken Seifullin at an event held by the Turksoy organization in Kazan.
At the theater festival, which took place in Russia, the play “First Love” by Kanat Zhunisov won in the “Best Work” category.
The artist maintains close creative ties with Kazakh pop stars. In particular, Kanat Kurmashevich wrote the words of famous songs in the repertoire of Kazakh pop groups “Baiterek”, “Alaman”, “Format” and many famous singers such as Marzhan Arapbaeva, Aigul Imanbaeva and Dos.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board - Rector Kanat Tireuov, teachers and students.
The Rector expressed gratitude to the guests and awarded Asylgul Abish the highest award of our university, the Saken Seifullin Medal. Kanat Zhunisov was awarded this award for the play “Akyn men azhal”, staged by the student theater “Akzhelken” at the Zhastar Theater on February 26.
The leaders of the student theater N. Vakhitov, D. Umarov and a 4th year student of the Faculty of Economics, who played the main role of Saken, Zhangeldy Maratov were also awarded the Seifullin medal.
