Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Maratovich Tireuov became a member of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the new amendments to the regulations on the commission, the composition of the commission is now approved personally by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the proposal of the Presidential Assistant for Domestic Policy and Communications. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree dated April 22, 2024, which introduced these changes to the decree “On the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

The commission consists of a chairman, two deputies, a secretary and members of the commission.

Let us recall that the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a consultative and advisory body that facilitates the implementation by the Head of State of his constitutional powers as a guarantor of human and civil rights and freedoms, recognized and guaranteed in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Commission works to promote the improvement of the mechanism for ensuring and protecting human and civil rights and freedoms; provides assistance to the activities of central and local government bodies in implementing state policy in the field of ensuring and protecting human and civil rights and freedoms; participates in the development of concepts and programs of state policy in the field of ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms; and also promotes the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms.

Meetings of the commission are convened by its chairman as necessary, but at least once a quarter.

In addition to K.M. Tireuov, the Commission included:
