Organizers: participants of the “Ecolife” club, 1st and 2nd year students of the departments “Ecology”, “Forest Resources and Forestry”, “Hunting and Fisheries”, teaching staff of the department “Ecology”.
Every year on April 22, not just a big, but a truly global holiday is celebrated - International Mother Earth Day - the day of our common cozy home.
This holiday was established at the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly in 2009 and has been celebrated since 2010 on April 22.
To achieve a fair balance between the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations, it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and planet Earth.
Nature is trying. Ocean acidification is occurring as a result of plastic pollution. Climate change, human-induced changes in nature, and unacceptable practices that destroy biodiversity, such as deforestation, land use changes, intensive agriculture and livestock farming, and poaching, are accelerating the destruction of the planet.
The healthier the ecosystems, the healthier the planet and its people. Restoring damaged ecosystems will help alleviate poverty, help fight climate change and prevent mass loss of life. International Mother Earth Day is meant to remind us that each of us owes our existence to our planet and its ecosystems.
