Visit of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Riccardo Valentini to KazATU

On June 19, 2017 S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University. was visited by Professor of the University of Tushia (Italy), the Nobel Peace Prize winner Ricardo Valentini. Within the framework of this visit, a seminar was held in the scientific library of KazATU.

The Chairman of the Board Akhylbek Kurishbaev in his welcome speech expressed special gratitude to the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ricardo Valentini for conducting this lecture for the faculty staff and students of KATU.

Mr. Valentini shared his experience in the establishment of an autonomous university and the transformation of the university into a research university. Moreover, Riccardo Valentini expressed deep interest in cooperation with KATU in the field of two-diploma education.

At the end of the lecture, the Chairman of the Board Akhylbek Kurishbaev, thanked Professor Valentini for the meaningful presentation on behalf of all participants of the event, noting his great benefit for all participants.

Riccardo Valentini is a professor at the University of Tushia (Italy) and director of the European Mediterranean Center for Climate Change. In 2007, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize as part of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts, which assesses the risk of global climate change caused by man-made factors. The scientists received the award "For studying the consequences of global climate change caused by human activities and developing measures for their possible prevention." Also, Professor Valentini is the owner of other prestigious international awards - Nornbert Gamber, the European Scientific Council, the European Federation of Ecologists, Marx Planck, Ernst Haeckel and the title of "The Best Ecologist of Europe 2015".
